The Nike Kyrie 7 “Weatherman” is a April 2021 colorway of Kyrie Irving’s seventh signature shoe that draws inspiration from the popular design that first appeared on Kevin Durant’s Nike KD 4. Originally released in 2011, the Nike KD 4 “Weatherman” saluted Durant’s childhood love of meteorology. Here, the “Weatherman” appears on Durant’s good friend Kyrie Irving’s signature basketball shoe as a continuation of the colorway’s legacy. The upper features a green and yellow mesh construction with a multicolor heat map pattern on the heel. A black outline Swoosh graces both sides and black synthetic lace holders on the forefoot support the lacing system. Kyrie’s signature logo with Nike can be found on the green mesh tongue. Overall, although the two “Weatherman” colorways aren’t identical, the modern Nike Kyrie 7 edition absolutely stands up to the OG style that first appeared on the Nike KD 4.
